Mah Favorite Shows

@XoriniteWisp asked me on Twitter what my favorite shows were, and I knew 140 characters weren’t going to cover it, so I decided to answer it in a blog post. I’ll go into detail about why I like some of my favorite shows and just list off all the other things I try to keep up with. =D

Probably my favorite TV show right now is Game of Thrones. Two weeks ago I hadn’t even started it, and now I’m all caught up and loving all the characters - and loving to hate the Lannisters (except Tyrion who is mah most favoritest b/c he is a bad ass motha fucka.) This show tears me up so much because I love so many of the characters, and they can’t all have the Iron Throne! >< That’s all I’ll say for now except for I was incredibly underwhelmed by the Season 2 finale. It felt more like what a season premiere should be and while the wait for Season 3 will be long, I won’t exactly be agonizing over it. Also, if you’re not watching, YOU SHOULD BE!

Dexter is another of my favorites. The show has had its ups and downs, but I am still loving every minute of it. It still feels fresh every season. The show is flowing really well with developing Dexter as a character, which really shows how great the writers are considering only the first season has anything to do with the books - and took a lot of liberties even then. Season 7 starts on Sept. 30, and HOLY BALLS I cannot wait. Season 6 finale? Mindblowing. This is what a finale looks like, Game of Thrones.

True Blood is my guilty pleasure, I guess. I love it even though I don’t think it’s amazeballs or anything. It’s like a softcore porn soap opera. I’m pretty much just sticking around for Lafayette (so glad they decided to keep him around in the show even though he was killed off in the first book) and Eric Northman. I tried to enjoy the books, but they were too much like Twilight for me (only with better writing, arguably.) They’re written from Sookie’s perspective, so if it doesn’t happen to her, you have no idea it happens. The show has a lot of freedom to follow the other characters I love. Though considering how the last season ended, I’m wondering if they’re going to take back some of the stuff that happened with vampire magic.

Regular Show is my favorite thing on Cartoon Network. Dare I say I love it more than Adventure Time, which is super awesome in its own right. Maybe I just jive with it a bit more b/c Mordecai and Rigby are supposed to be early 20-somethings, so the content is closer to my age range? I dunno. Adventure Time is seriously awesome too though. I can’t even put into words why. They’re cartoons, but they’re the best cartoons ever. Watch em.

Other shows that I may or may not be keeping up with are - The Walking Dead, Burn Notice, Royal Pains, White Collar, Bones, Fringe, Family Guy, The Office, Modern Family, Grey’s Anatomy (even though I’ve lost interest), Psych, Castle, The Mentalist, Supernatural (I catch random episodes whenever I can, but I’ve never really followed it), and I love to catch shows like Hoarders, My Strange Addiction and Intervention when I can.

And finally there are those shows that I know I should probably be watching but just haven’t gotten around to it. Like Breaking Bad, Community, Parks & Rec, Revenge, Grimm, The Killing and lots more I can’t think of right now.

I watch a lot of TV.
